On August 27, 2021, the Faculty of Finance and Banking organized the conference “Finance – Banking and Sustainable Development in the 4.0 Era” and the award ceremony of the Certificate of Merit from the State Securities Commission (SSC) to the Faculty.
Representing the university, the conference was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, Party Secretary and President of Foreign Trade University, along with leaders from various departments, faculties, and institutes of the university. The conference also saw the participation of leaders from SSC, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, banks (MBBank, VCB, TPBank), securities companies (VCBS, VPS, VNDirect), financial data companies (Fiingroup), and other enterprises. From the Faculty of Finance and Banking, the participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Tran Trung Dung, Vice Dean, along with the faculty’s staff and lecturers.
The conference commenced with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan commending the Faculty of Finance and Banking for overcoming the difficulties posed by the pandemic to organize the university-level conference “Finance – Banking and Sustainable Development in the 4.0 Era” online, contributing to the completion of the annual plan.
Following this, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Chief of the Office of the SSC, authorized by the SSC Chairman, read the Decision to award the Certificate of Merit to the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Foreign Trade University, for its outstanding achievements in the promotion, dissemination, education, and scientific research on Finance – Securities from 2006 to 2021. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Dung accepted the award on behalf of the faculty and expressed his gratitude.
In the next segment, the conference featured presentations from several speakers, including leaders from regulatory agencies, commercial banks, enterprises, and researchers, discussing issues related to the theme “Finance – Banking and Sustainable Development in the 4.0 Era.” The presentations covered practical applications of technology in finance and banking, digital transformation, big data analysis, green finance studies, and QR code usage behavior. These talks were highly regarded for their expertise and relevance to societal trends. Some participants also suggested potential collaboration forms between the Faculty of Finance and Banking and Foreign Trade University to guide and implement research, teaching activities, and student support in the future.
Concluding the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Dung summarized the event and, based on the discussions, outlined several directions to develop the Faculty’s activities moving forward, aiming towards digital transformation and sustainable development in the 4.0 era in the finance and banking sector.
