With the desire to bring real-world experiences to students in their journey of building an effective investment portfolio, Faculty of Banking and Finance, Foreign Trade University, in collaboration with VPS Securities Joint Stock Company, is organizing a series of PROJECT-BASED LEARNING (PBL) activities.
These activities are exclusively designed for students enrolled in the High Quality Program of Banking and International Finance, as part of the FIN2 course. The program aims to provide students with the opportunity to comprehensively apply the theories of analysis, valuation, and investment methods in fixed-income assets, derivatives, and other asset classes, through direct experiences at the VPS Securities Company.
The key objectives of this PBL initiative are:
– To enable students to apply the theoretical concepts learned in the classroom to real-world investment scenarios.
– To develop students’ analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in the financial markets.
– To provide students with hands-on experience in portfolio management and investment strategies.
– To foster teamwork, communication, and presentation skills among the participating students.
– To bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical applications in the financial industry.
After completing the course, the participating students will have the opportunity to:
– Acquire knowledge about the nature and price dynamics of various securities such as stocks, fixed-income assets, derivatives, and other asset classes.
– Develop the ability to select among different asset classes and make informed investment decisions.
– Receive training on risk management skills related to investments and make appropriate adjustments according to the established strategies.
The first event in the series of activities “Conquering the Securities Market with VPS – From Theory to Practical Investment Portfolio Building” will feature the participation of Dr. Le Duc Khanh, the Director of Investment Capability Development at VPS Securities Company. This event is expected to provide students with valuable knowledge and experience in setting investment objectives, selecting investment assets, and developing effective investment strategies.
