Basic Financial Literacy Program at High Schools

Within the framework of the Basic Financial Literacy Program at High Schools, on February 1st, Foreign Trade University organized a lesson for students from Ha Long High School for the Gifted. This activity helps pupils clearly define their goals, make specific financial plans, and acquire basic personal financial management skills while they are still in school, as well as provide fundamental knowledge about finance and banking career paths.

Attending the program from Ha Long High School for the Gifted were Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu Thuy – School Principal, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Nghia – Vice Principal, and Mr. Nguyen Huy Phan – Secretary of Youth Union. From Foreign Trade University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Dung – Dean of Faculty of Banking and Finance, Ms. Nguyen Huyen Minh – Head of the Communication and External Relations Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Tran Trung Dung – Vice Dean of Faculty of Banking and Finance, Ms. Dinh Thuy Tien – Deputy Secretary of Youth Union, and Dr. Trinh Quang Hung – Staff of the Training and Management Department, along with other lecturers from Faculty of Banking and Finance.

In a 90-minute session, the pupils from Ha Long High School for the Gifted were introduced to basic financial concepts such as saving, investment, risk, insurance, etc. They also gained an understanding of the differences between high school and university-level lessons, which helped boost their confidence in transitioning to become university students. After the lecture, the staff from the Training and Management Department, Communication and External Relations Department, and Faculty of Banking and Finance provided counseling, advice, and answered the students’ questions about Foreign Trade University, admission information for academic programs, as well as career opportunities after graduation.
