Expected learning outcome

The MSc. in B&F Program is designed based on the actual demands of the labor market, as well as the missions and visions of FTU. The goal of the MSc. program is to help graduate students master the fundamental theory in finance, have independent research capacity, have the ability to detect, analyze and solve research problems in the field of banking and finance, have sufficient English when doing research and working in the banking and finance sector. The expected learning outcomes (ELOs) of the program are built on the basis of knowledge, skills, autonomy and responsibillity capacity, and learning ability, capacity improvement and career development after graduation. The ELOs are constructed to align with the goals of the MSc. program. Specifically, graduate students who complete the MSc. program meet ELOs as follows:

Knowledge

ELO1. Apply scientific worldview, inductive and deductive methodology and logical thinking in theory and practice;

ELO2. Analyze issues related to banking and finance field on the basis of fundamental theories and basic and specialized knowledge to solve related problems;

ELO3. Evaluate research topics related to business operation, investment management, capital budgeting, capital financing, risk management of corporations, economic organizations, credit institutions, banks and other financial institutions;

ELO 4. Develop research topics related to banking and finance field to make new theoretical and academic contributions or to contribute research results in the field of banking and finance.

 Skills

ELO5. Be equipped with evaluating skills on research problems, thereby giving solutions and recommendations to solve them in the field of banking and finance. 

ELO6. Be equipped with qualitative and quantitative research skills in finance and the ability to use specialized software to solve in-depth research problems in the field of banking and finance; 

ELO7. Be equipped with organizing and managing skills in advanced professional activities, teamwork and effective presentation skills;

ELO8. Be equipped with information technology skills and English proficiency (at Level 4/6 of Vietnam Foreign Language Competence Framework);

Capacity of autonomy and responsibility

ELO9. Be equipped with problem-detecting and solving skills, guiding capacity in different research topics to suggest valuable initiatives to improve the current issues in banking and finance field; 

ELO10. Be equipped with the capacity to be creative, to develop research skills, to convey knowledge based on research results, to discuss with others and guide them to do research and draw professional conclusions and to defense and be responsible for the research results in the field of banking and finance; 

Capacity of learning, qualification improvement and career development

ELO11. Develop personal capacity through continuing to study and improve oneself at Doctoral level; 

ELO12. Develop career to new or higher positions related to banking and finance field (lecturers, researchers, associate professors, professors, professional financial consultants…).
